Project Management

Larial provides clients with project management support both at the pre- and post-commercialization stages. Our expertise in this area developed both as a consequence of internal technology developments (eg., RepliCass, FixElix) and participation in many client-funded projects that sought to move technologies from a conceptual stage through to commercialization. The process normally begins by establishing a suitable scientific algorithm that will govern technology development and prototype testing. The roadmap is often collaborative in nature with both vendor and client combining their best skillsets to expedite technology development and reduce costs. By assembling a good scientific framework for the project, public or private sector clients improve their chances of securing academic grants or corporate investments to support their R&D programs. Canadian privately owned corporate (CPC) clients can also take advantage of Larial's expertise in planning and applying for SR&ED (Scientific Research and Experimental Development) tax credits to offset R&D costs. Larial's clients also take advantage of our ability to source affordable scientific instrumentation and access to industry-trained scientific staff whether they are attempting to fulfill short or long term needs in-house. A key offering that many outsource providers do not provide clientele is access to SOPs, methods of assay design and validation know-how despite the desire many clients have to eventually bring technologies in-house. Larial assists its clients in the technology transfer process through transparent documentation practices that enable protocols to be easily assimilated. Furthermore, it is our belief that clients obtain open access to the technology development process since it is essential to formulating strong patent claims and technical application notes to support products in the marketplace and enable the QA/QC process. In the post-commercialization phase, Larial often plays an important role helping clients perform due diligence on technology acquisitions, as well as providing sound advice on marketing strategies that ensure successful adoption of new technologies. An important aspect of the post-commercialization process is the need to provide ongoing competitive intelligence on emerging technologies for investors/shareholders. This enables sound decisions to be made on product redevelopment strategies thereby ensuring proper timing of next generation products.
